Position Title: Supply Chain Analyst
Position Purpose: Responsible for the analysis of current inventory, purchasing, and overall supply chain facilitation of OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) products and other related steel products through the pre-sale stage, post-sale processing stage, and release stage leading to the customer’s receipt of sold goods. Coordinates with employees and groups throughout the operations team to ensure critical timeliness and accuracy of processing and release of OCTG. Coordinates and negotiates purchasing terms with supplies – both domestic and international.

Responsibilities and Competencies

INVENTORY LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT:

Account for and differentiate different grades, sizes, and processing and finishing specifications for OCTG inventory. Track where products are being help throughout the 3rd party network of storage facilities in both the United States and Canada.
Ensuring that the demands of the customer can and will be met under the agreed upon terms by verifying real time product availability and logistics capacity.
Monitor and influence processing, and manage or influence logistics (receiving, tracking, transferring), and recordkeeping through teamwork in order to meet the demanding sales environment. Complete all documentation including orders, invoices, transfers, etc.
Ensure fulfillment of orders through complex configuration of multiply storage locations, processing locations, and consolidated logistics pick-up locations while creating a streamlined execution process which meets the intended timeline.
Interpret data on logistics elements, such as availability, maintainability, reliability, supply chain management, strategic sourcing or distribution, supplier management, or transportation.
Generate management information reports as directed (e.g. monthly management reports, change reports, open order reports, inventory reconciliation reports, etc.).
Analyze and monitor costs, source cost-savings solutions, and act upon cost-saving initiatives wherever discovered.
Responsible for assessing inventory management/in-house ERP system in coordination with software development team. Participate in meeting and provide insight on solutions needed to develop the system’s capabilities and interface.

PURCHASING FACILITATION:

Based on supply and demand analysis and planning, initiate replenishment of materials. Base recommendations on inventory levels, forecasting, and cost analysis.
Communicate regularly with treasury department or senior management regarding funds and payment planning for materials purchasing.

TRADING FACILITATION:

Based on inventory availability, initiate trades with other suppliers to acquire material needed. Analyze opportunities to buy and quickly sell material based on opportunistic market understanding.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

At minimum, Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations
Management, Business, or related strongly preferred; Master’s
degree in supply chain strong preferred.

Experience Required:

Three (3) years of experience in business operations related to Supply
Chain: Procurement, Inventory Management, Logistics, and/or
Financial Analysis related to manufactured products. A PLUS to
have international procurement and logistics experience. A PLUS
to have worked in areas such as Oil & Gas or Steel Products. A
plus to have studied oil and gas industry trends.
Two (2) years working with a focus with steel tubular products
(OCTG).

Two (2) years of experience purchasing or significantly influencing
the purchase of high-value materials; regularly handling
purchase orders in excess of $5MM.

Skills/Abilities:

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to both serve internal and
external customers while influencing others in a highly
demanding and competitive environment where sale price of
goods is substantial.
Ability to manage and cope with intense speeds and high levels of
frustration, and manage schedule so that time differences and
fulfillment of orders occurring outside normal business
operations are handled.
Thoughtful and methodical in completing and managing processes so
to ensure accuracy in real time.
Ability to operate relevant computer applications, proprietary
software after training, and related business equipment without
assistance.
Ability to self-manage and maintain an effective and efficient
workflow.

TRAVEL:

Ability to travel, by any methods as directed by the Company, for
purpose of face to face interaction with internal and external
customers. May include international travel to Canada.

ENVIRONMENTAL:

Ability to work effectively in an office setting using, but not limited to,
filing systems, computer systems, applicable software, lifting
items of nominal weight, etc

CLASSIFICATION:

Full time – permanent / Salaried-Exempt plus annual bonus eligibility
